Hotel Proxoxie

>

You pull into a crumbling paved parking lot surrounded by a rusty chain linked fence that looked like it could topple over at any minute. When you wanted a place with character, you surely got what you wished for. You brushed off a slight pang of regret and skepticism, as you had your hopes high for whatever was in store. You replaced the thought with a daydream of the mysterious receptionist… was he going to be as romantic as his voice was over the phone? You park your car next to a cool looking Buick Skylark from the 50’s… come to think of it, all of the cars around you looked sort of vintage, it was almost like you were in Puerto Rico. Maybe there is a car show in town, Michigan is a hub for car culture. You try to justify reasons in your head. It was a perfect March afternoon, the sky was a pastel shade of blue with a few playful puffy clouds hanging around in the sky. You took a deep breath, excited and also nervous for whatever lay in store. The afternoon was nothing but inviting, you silently prayed that this hotel would be the same. A bigger man in a navy blue uniform approached you. You read his name tag; Gus. “The valet is $25 for 24 hours”. You winced at the price. Of course, any establishment with rates as low as $89 a night is going to gouge you at the parking prices. You had no idea where else to park, as you didn’t know what the traffic police were like in Appassionata. With hesitancy, you pulled out your wallet and gave Gus $25 in cash… How much will you tip Gus?
